STAND DE ARTESANÍA (2013)
Con el fin de lograr una unión entre el concepto de arquitectura efímera para mostrar la artesanía dominicana, se crea un ente efímero que sirve para exposiciones recurrentes de artesanía y que funciona en sí como una escultura. Luego de analizar todas las características de la artesanía dominicana, se procedió a estudiar distintos materiales capaces de lograr el dinamismo exacto que ésta nos pueda brindar, tomando en cuenta las características fundamentales de la misma como flexibilidad, del entorno inmediato, pragmática, simple y ligera. Llegando a la conclusión de que el material más adecuado, que cumple con todas estas características, es el Bambú. Aunque no es un material propio de la República Dominicana, el Bambú es uno de los materiales más usados en la artesanía dominicana, y es producido en la misma gracias a su introducción previa en el país.
In order to tie the concept of ephemeral architecture to showcase the Dominican craftsmanship, we created an ephemeral entity that serves for recurring exhibitions of handicrafts and that functions in itself as a sculpture. After analyzing all the characteristics of the Dominican craftsmanship, we proceeded to study different materials capable of achieving the exact dynamism that this can offer. Taking into account the fundamental characteristics of the craftsmanship such as flexibility, of the immediate space, pragmatic, simple and light weigh, the most suitable material, which meets all these characteristics, is bamboo. Although it is not a material of the Dominican Republic, the bamboo is one of the most used materials in Dominican crafts, and is produced here thanks to its previous introduction in the country.
